Born in Cavarzere in 1862, he studied at the Venice Academy, a disciple of Pompeo Molmenti. Quick, casual and correct executor of genre paintings, he established himself very young with Cuore di popolana, exhibited in Turin in 1884; then again, in the same year, he presented Un campo a Venezia to the Promotrice of Florence; and in 1866, Testa di vecchio; also in 1886, in Livorno, The landing of fishermen and In church; in Venice, in 1887: Lunch time; From the greengrocer and La xe sana; in 1888, in Edinburgh, Seller of oranges, and in Bologna The Forbidden Fruit; in Chicago, in 1893: Fruttivendola; Baddest of all and Lemon Seller; again in Venice, in 1897, at the 2nd International Exhibition, Spring in Venice; in 1900, in Milan, The breakfast; in 1902, in Turin, Il vino; and in Saint-Louis, First Communion. He also exhibited in Glasgow, and the frescoes in the churches of Casale Scodovia and Altura, in the province of Padua, are the work of him.
