Pupil of G. Calosci at the Academy of Florence, he then studied in Venice with G. Ciardi and E. Tito. In 1900 he returned to Florence and began to devote himself to landscape and genre painting, combining thoughtful references to the post-Macchiaoli tradition with P. Nomellini's interests in Divisionism. He made his debut in Turin in 1902, achieving some success, confirmed in 1905 when he exhibited at the Venice Biennale Epilogue of life. He died in Florence in 1953.
