Born in Biella on 2 March 1874. He studied at the Accademia Albertina in Turin with Giacomo Grosso, then began his artistic career by adopting his own technique. In a first period he was inspired by virile beauty and executed: Tra colori e vapori, purchased by S. M. il Re and kept in the Quirinale; The weaver; The workers, who received praise on the occasion of a Quadrennial exhibition in Milan. Later, influenced by the Delleani school, he was inspired by the landscape, where the drawing and the tonality become the greatest value of his paintings. Notable works: Autumn smiles, with Count Barbaroux; On the plateau, near the baron Peccoz; Harvest in the Biellese; In the silence of the woods; Casolari col luna, near S. M. il Re. He also portrayed landscapes covered by snow with marvelous light effects: Prima neve; The torrent in winter, in the Civic Museum of Turin; The last ray on the Ranzola; Towards the valley, awarded with a bronze medal; Procession in the mountains; To mass before; Snowfall in Gressoney; Last cottages; In the peace of the sanctuary, awarded with a silver medal. In addition to the Milan Quadrennial, he exhibited at important national exhibitions and was invited to several French and English exhibitions.
