Born in Miskowitz in 1849, present-day Myslkovice in the Czech Republic, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, died in Venice in 1926. After starting her artistic studies at the Prague Academy under the guidance of the history painter Karel Javurek, she moved to Venice, where her presence has been documented since 1867, perfecting herself with the painter Michelangelo Grigoletti at the Academy of Fine Arts. of that city. During his academic studies he obtained the first prize in the watercolor copy and the second prize for some life studies in oil in the perspective class (1868-69), the second prize in accession in anatomy drawing, the first ( class of folds) and the second prize (statuary) in the drawing of the figure (1869-70) and the first and second prize in accessit with some studies of color in the figure and of composition (1870-71). She binds herself to the Austrian artists residing there, Eugen Von Blaas in particular, and immediately stands out, even at an international level, for her small-format views, especially of the lagoon city. Subsequently she made several trips to Florence, Bologna and Rome, continuing to create small views and preferring interiors of churches or cloisters. But her name remains linked to the Venetian views especially appreciated by the Anglo-Saxon and American markets. You participate in numerous national and international exhibitions. He died in Venice in 1926. His works are preserved in various public and private collections, including the Revoltella Museum in Trieste (Ferry of San Geremia), the Modern Art Gallery of Palazzo Pitti in Florence (View of the Niobe at the Uffizi), the University of Virginia Art Museum and the Gloucester City Museum (Doge's Palace in Venice).
