Born in Bologna on July 18, 1861, still alive. Brother of Alberto. He attended sculpture courses in Florence under the direction of Rivalta and obtained various prizes at the exhibitions of the essays. After having stayed in Paris, Munich, Warsaw and above all in Egypt, he devoted himself entirely to painting and immediately revealed his ability with oriental paintings. He participated in the Exhibition of the Circolo degli Artisti in Florence in 1888, with Arab woman; A terrace in Alessandria; The potter; Old Muslim, praised for the strength of his color and his strong personality. One of his most admired paintings by him was Contrasto, considered to be his best work. Other works: The death of Anita Garibaldi, in the Museum of the Risorgimento in Florence; The sale of a slave; The Jews of Warsaw; Oriental women; The seven deadly sins; Mommy; Madonna of the ear; Christ mocked; Head of Christ, awarded in Turin in 1889. he He also dealt with tempera and watercolor, illustrating with the latter the Aeneid, the Iliad and the Odyssey.
