Born in Florence in 1824. He was a disciple of Carlo Markò. He especially treated the landscape and, if he wasn't a true Macchiaiolo, he prepared the ground for this new manifestation of art, for which he had sympathy. He exhibited in Rome, Bologna, Florence. Main works by him: View of the Tiber in Pieve Santo Stefano, purchased by the Grand Duke of Tuscany; View of the Mugnone, purchased by Count Spalletti of Bologna; View of Lake Massaciuccoli; View of San Miniato al Monte; The Ponte Vecchio in Florence; Interior of the refectory of the former convent of San Domenico di Fiesole; At San Terenzo in the Gulf of La Spezia; Animated landscape.
