Son and pupil of Carl Friedrich, Moritz studied under Wilhelm Kaulbach. His production, dedicated to the hunting theme and, above all, to the representation of deer, roe deer and chamois, was particularly appreciated by the public for the elegant execution and the precision of the details; characteristics clearly found in the published works, wisely formulated in the attention to detail and in the rendering of the movement. His paintings are kept in numerous museums, including those in Munich, Berlin, Dresden, Hanover and Mareta.
