Born in Florence in 1851, he was, together with his brother Antonio, a pupil of Ciseri. He dealt with still life, imposing himself on the public for the tasty workmanship of his works by him. He carried out various works of figure of country subject. Many of his paintings were bought by Mr. Lewis, who had a gallery in Ohio (United States). He exhibited a much appreciated portrait in Florence in 1886. His works include the Portrait of Mr. Jacque of New York and The Last Efforts, purchased by a London collector.
